Monis, the son of Peder and Trisha Monis of Oconomowoc, was a four-year varsity starter and scored 1,000 points in his high school career. He was selected 1st team all-conference and also named Player of the Year in the Capitol North Conference in 2019. He has been selected to play in WBCA All-Star Game this summer. He also played for the Wisconsin Crusaders AAU team. At Lakeside, he also played four years of football and one of baseball.

“Outside of being a quality athlete, the things that really drew us to Jack was his outstanding character,” says Head Men’s Basketball Coach Wayne Wagner. “He is the epitome of a great student-athlete that has not only the talent but a great work ethic and competitive nature that will drive him to be successful on and off the floor. He comes from a solid background with the foundation from his family and the Lakeside Lutheran community. We see so many of the leadership qualities in Jack that fit so well with our Viterbo University community’s leading mantra of servant-leadership.”
